Memory and retrospect drift in and out of the mind, fade in and out of scattered timelines, and project like flashing films. In this story, we contrast the detachment of an American with the nostalgia of a European. An American woman loved a Belgian man while their lives collided; but when time led her to leave him, she refused to live on peripheral emotions. The Belgian man was left haunted by love lost. As he walks through his everyday life, her echoes soundtrack his every moment. When realization sets it, surreality engulfs his path.
